Resolute Announces U.S. Newsprint Price Increase

Midland Paper, Wheeling, Ill., USA, reported this week that Resolute (Canada) is announcing a U.S. newsprint price increase of $30/metric ton (for 48.8 gsm). The increase will be phased in beginning with a $15/metric ton hike effective with shipments on or after June 1, followed by a second increase of $15/metric ton effective with shipments on or after July 1. Other basis weights will be adjusted as per past practices.
This price increase does not apply to Ponderay Newsprint Co.
