According to a report by Euwid, Hamburger Rieger, Germany, plans to increase the capacity of its mill in Gelsenkirchen, Germany by 70,000 metric tpy, to 250,000 metric tpy. Although the company mainly focuses on white testliner, the increase is said to raise the mill's capacity for both white and brown testliner. The necessary work will be carried out in October, the report noted. .

Hamburger Containerboard has delayed its decision on where the new paper machine for recycled containerboard will be located. At the beginning of this year, the company announced that two sites were under consideration for the new 450,000metric tpy machine, according to Euwid—Spremberg, Germany, and Dentas, Turkey. Now the company said it was also considering the possibility of building paper machines at both sites in the course of the next seven years.
