The Kiev Cardboard and Paper Mill (CPM), Ukraine, has launched a project to modernize its No. 2 paperboard machine. The company signed a contract with AVK (France) for the installation of a new press section on the existing machine. The goal of the upgrade is to improve the quality of the mill’s products as well as to reduce its heat energy costs.

Kiev CPM is part of the Austrian Pulp Mill Holding. The mill produces more than 850 metric tpd, and has about a 30% share of the Ukraine pulp and paper products market. Its main raw material is recycled paper.

The plant is located in Obukhov city in the Kiev region, and covers an area of about 99 ha. It has some 2,200 employees.
