Industrial Nanotech, Inc., Naples, Fla., USA, has increased its reach in the pulp and paper industry through a focused sustainability initiative aimed at helping manufacturers in the U.S. and around the world meet their core sustainability goals by lowering energy use and reducing related carbon emissions, as well as significantly improving worker safety. The company has completed successful applications of their patented thermal insulation and protective coatings with major paper manufacturers in the U.S., India, and Mexico, and is rolling out their sustainable solutions across multiple facilities in other countries.

"We have found the pulp and paper industry to be one that is fully committed to energy efficiency and appreciates proven, trusted, and innovative solutions," said Francesca Crolley, VP of business development for Industrial Nanotech. "Our company has been working with this industry for years, and successful applications of our insulation coatings include steam pipes, processing tanks, boilers, dryers, heat exchangers, and multiple other areas for thermal insulation, energy savings, corrosion prevention, and worker safety by reduction of burn injuries.

"Leaders in this industry are very receptive to improving sustainability and seeking out better materials that provide a longer term benefit and shorter return on investment than older types of insulation. One example is Dr. T.G. Sundara Raman, head of energy and climate change development at  Seshasayee Paper and Boards (India), who stated that Seshasayee Paper has always been in the forefront of implementing innovative climate friendly solutions. He added that Seshasayee Paper used our coatings for a number of applications in their factory, which subsequently won energy conservation awards from the Bureau of Energy Efficiency and the Indian Paper Manufacturers Association. Dr. Ram further stated that our coatings target the 3E’s -- Energy conservation, Environmental management, and Emission reduction, all in one.

"We have completed the introduction of our coatings to two major U.S. pulp and paper manufacturers and both were excited with the opportunities that our technology offered for reducing their overall energy costs, lowering surface temperatures to a safe touch level to reduce recordable incident rates (RIR), and helping them meet their sustainability goals. We have launched a comprehensive roll out to introduce hundreds of their facilities and other international facilities to our easy-to-use and powerful insulation technology, to help them solve some of their most difficult energy saving and asset protection issues," Crolley said.
