Research and Markets, Dublin, Ireland, announced this past week the addition of the "Global Specialty Paper Market 2015-2019" report to their offering. The global specialty paper market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 3.28% over the period 2015-2019.

Specialty papers are defined as papers that are manufactured or subsequently converted to a specific usage. They are either manufactured separately, or normal paper is converted into specialty paper by coating it with specialty paper and pulp chemicals, thus making it usable for a specific application. These papers play a significant role in packaging, printing, and industrial use.

An increase in disposable income combined with a rising middle-class population in emerging markets is leading to the increase in consumption of packaged food, giving rise to high demand for packaging applications, which, in turn, creates demand for specialty paper. Surges in the adoption of paper-based flexible packaging papers are also expected to fuel the growth of the market during the forecast period.

Further, the report states that the volatile raw material cost increases the production cost, thus restricting the growth of the market.
