Clearwater Paper, Spokane, Wash., USA, said the company is pleased to announce the introduction of a modified clay coating formulation from both its Idaho and Arkansas mills. This will affect the following grades of Clearwater paperboard:
  • Candesce C1S Folding Carton
  • Ancora C2S• Candesce Blister (C1S & Foldover Blister)
  • Candesce  TS (Top Sheet)
  • Foodservice C1S• All Coated Plate Stock grades.
The new formulation will result in improved performance through converting operations, particularly in printing, scoring, folding ,and gluing. The modification will result in similar shade and brightness to our current formula, and a 10 to 15 point improvement in paperboard gloss. This change will be effective with mid-April production.
