Gilligan to Keynote Paper Hall of Fame 22nd Annual Induction Ceremony

The Board of Directors of the Paper Industry International Hall of Fame, Inc. (PIIHF), Appleton, Wis., USA, this week announced that Kevin M. Gilligan, CEO of Appvion Inc., based in Appleton, will be the keynote speaker at the 22nd annual Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Oct. 6, 2016. The event will be held at the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel in Appleton.

Gilligan was named CEO of Appvion and PDC on Aug. 4, 2015. He had served as president of the paper division since joining Appvion in June 2014. Prior to Appvion, Gilligan served as VP, global operations for H.B. Fuller Co. since 2012. H.B. Fuller is a global specialty chemical company focused on adhesives.

During his 20-yr. career with H.B. Fuller, Gilligan also served as region VP for Asia Pacific businesses, GM of H.B. Fuller Window, North American operations director, e-business director, product line manager, and plant manager. He began his career as a manufacturing engineer for Texas Instruments. Gilligan earned a master’s degree in business administration (marketing and operations management) from Indiana University and a bachelor’s degree in industrial and operations engineering from the University of Michigan.

Appvion produces thermal, carbonless, security, inkjet, digital specialty, and colored papers. The company has manufacturing operations in Wisconsin, Ohio, and Pennsylvania, and employs approximately 1,500 people. It is 100% employee-owned. 

The 2016 Paper Industry International Hall of Fame inductees will be selected in May and announced in early June. Nominations for candidates for induction into the Paper Industry International Hall of Fame are now being accepted. The deadline for submitting a completed nomination is March 31, 2016. The PIIHF recognizes individuals who pioneered and/or helped the world’s paper and allied industries flourish. The Hall of Fame currently has 129 members
from 15 countries. 

Nomination forms are available at the Paper Discovery Center or online. The Paper Hall of Fame is located within the Paper Discovery Center, an interactive science and technology museum in Appleton, with a mission to Celebrate All Things Paper - the Wonder and the Legacy. The Paper Discovery Center is operated by the Paper Industry International Hall of Fame Inc., a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization.
