WestRock Announces Shan Cooper as Chief Supply Chain and Technology Officer

WestRock, Richmond, Va., USA, on Tuesday (February 9) announced that Shan Cooper will be named the chief supply chain and technology officer of WestRock. In this new role, Shan’s responsibilities include WestRock’s supply chain and technology functions, as well as the company’s recycling business. Shan will report to CEO Steve Voorhees. She will join the company on February 29.

"Shan is an accomplished business leader who will bring additional manufacturing, technology and supply chain expertise to WestRock," said Voorhees. "She will play an important role in the development of our company, including helping us reach our $1 billion synergy and performance improvement goal by the end of our fiscal 2018."

Shan was most recently VP of Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company and GM of its Marietta, Ga., facility which designs, produces, modifies, and maintains military aircraft for the U.S.  and countries around the world. She also served concurrently as Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company VP of business ethics. She had previously served in a variety of leadership roles at Lockheed Martin and Lucent Technologies.

Shan has received several national honors, including the Women of Color in Technology Corporate Responsibility Award and the YWCA Tribute to Women of Achievement. She was named Georgia Trend Magazine’s 2015 Most Respected Business Leader and Women of the Year 2015 by the American Association of University Women. She also received the 2013 Pioneer Award from US Black Engineer & Information Technology Magazine.
