Deadline Approaches for TAPPI Scholarships

TAPPI offers multiple scholarship opportunities to graduate and undergraduate students in the pulp, paper, packaging, and related industries. The deadline to apply for academic year 2016-2017 Technical Division scholarships is February 15.
 
The Coating and Graphic Arts Division provides up to four $1,000 scholarships for students majoring in scientific or technical disciplines related to the manufacture and/or graphic arts use of coated paper and paperboard.
 
The Corrugated Packaging Division provides up to four $1,000 scholarships each year, funded by endowments from both TAPPI and industry supporters, to students who demonstrate an interest in the corrugated industry and demonstrate overall maturity, job potential and aptitude for contribution.
 
The Engineering Division provides two $2,000 scholarships each year for undergraduate students who are interested in pursuing an engineering or science degree within the pulp and paper industry.
 
The Environmental Working Group offers the $2,500 Douglas Barton Memorial Scholarship to outstanding candidates in the area of environmental control as it relates to the pulp, paper, and allied industries.
 
The Paper and Board Division provides one or more scholarships each year worth a minimum of $1,000 apiece to students who intend to use their talents for advancing the science and technology of papermaking.
 
The PLACE Division provides a single $4,000 Daniel Siegel Memorial Scholarship to a talented science and engineering student enrolled in a packaging or related major.  PLACE serves the interests of the industries relating to its name: Polymers, Laminations, Adhesives, Coatings, and Extrusions.
 
The Process and Product Quality Division provides a single $1,000 scholarship to talented science and engineering students who plan to pursue careers in the development of quality management awareness within the pulp and paper industry.
 
The Process Control Division provides a single $1,000 scholarship to engineering students who demonstrate an interest in the development of professional skills within the process control fields of the pulp and paper industry.
 
In addition to Technical Division scholarships, TAPPI offers the William L. Cullison Memorial Scholarship, in amounts of up to $4,000, for undergraduate students majoring in pulp and paper science. The deadline to submit applications for academic year 2016-2017 is May 1.
 
TAPPI encourages students to apply for all of the scholarships for which they may qualify.
 
Scholarship application requirements vary by division and a general information form must also be completed.
