Upper Peninsula State Senator Tom Casperson said that 2016 could be a year for major growth in manufacturing opportunities in his region. The Escanaba, Mich., USA, Republican told the Radio Results Network (Marquette, Mich.) this week that there could be good news for the Manistique community this year.

"I'm very hopeful that the Manistique Paper Mill will be up and running again in some capacity," Casperson said. "I hope that this year we see that come to fruition. I believe by April we should know. And it looks good. Everything we've heard with why they had trouble certainly has been corrected with the new people that have taken over and looking at getting it up and operational again."
