Skanska to Rebuild SCA Pulp Mill in Timrå, Sweden

The Skanska Group, Sweden, has signed an agreement to extensively refurbishment and expand SCA’s, Sweden, pulp mill Östrand in Timrå, Sweden. The contract value is SEK 360 million. 

The expansion includes new a drying machine, operations center, and media paths, while the rebuild and extension includes causticizing, recovery boiler and turbine, and various ground works. The project is part of SCA's investments to double the capacity of the mill.

Construction is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2016 and the project is expected to be completed in May 2018.

Skanska Sweden is one of Sweden’s largest construction companies, with operations in building and civil-engineering construction. The business unit has approximately 11,000 employees and iys revenue in 2014 amounted to approximately SEK 30 billion. In Sweden, Skanska is also active in the development of residential construction and commercial premises.
