Canfor Completes Acquisition of Anthony Forest Products

Canfor Corp., Vancouver, N.C., Canada, this week announced that it has completed the acquisition of Anthony Forest Products Co. (AFP) located in El Dorado, Ark., USA. The acquisition plans were earlier announced by Canfor this past September 28.
 
AFP operates six facilities including a sawmill and laminating plant in Arkansas, a laminating plant in Georgia, two chip plants, and an I-joist plant through a 50/50 joint venture. 

Don Kayne, president and CEO of Canfor, said that "we are pleased to welcome Anthony Forest Products Co. to our Southern Pine family, which will add to the variety of quality products offered to our customers." 

Canfor is an integrated forest products company based in Vancouver, with interests in British Columbia, Alberta, North and South Carolina (USA), Alabama (USA), Georgia (USA), Mississippi (USA), and Arkansas (USA). Canfor produces primarily softwood lumber and also owns a 51.4% interest in Canfor Pulp Products Inc., which is one of the largest producers of market northern bleached softwood kraft pulp and a leading producer of high performance kraft paper.
