Print Print this Article | Send to Colleague

The Andritz new-generation shoe press—the PrimePress XT Evo--has a patent-pending loading system and improved shoe design, laying the basis for a constant CD lineload distribution. Additionally, and unique in the market, an edge control system gives full control of edge zones, allowing operators to respond to real runnability issues that arise from light or heavy ,dry or wet edges, etc.

Other highlights of the new shoe press include a reduction of 50% in hydraulic energy. Also, dewatering performance is improved, giving up to +4% post press dryness compared with state of the art press rolls. This is equivalent to savings in thermal drying up to 250 kWh/ton. More information  is available online.
