Sustainable Practices in Papermaking: Understanding the Market Demand and its Impact on Supply Chain Operations 
Session 8: Monday, October 26 from 3:30-5:00p.m.
Within the paper industry, manufacturers, distributors, and suppliers need to be aware of the desire among Americans for more sustainable paper and product packaging options. Collaboration throughout the supply chain is required to deliver products that meet consumer purchasing preferences and increase brand loyalty. In addition, a significant group of paper manufacturers have publically committed to sustainability targets as an industry which reflects efforts around six specific initiatives.

Pulp Yields Panel Discussion (Career Development)
Session 31: Tuesday October 27 from 3:30-5:00p.m.
Improving fiber yields is a constant objective by pulp manufacturers to remain economically competitive and sustainable with rising raw material costs. Leading industry experts from pulp manufacturing, equipment suppliers, consultants, and R&D have been assembled to discuss various topics that affect pulp yields from the chip pile to the end of bleaching. How can pulping conditions affect pulp yields? How can yields be estimated from kraft pulping and bleaching? What available technologies are available to boost fiber yields from wood chips? These are just a few of the topics that will be addressed by this panel.
