United Converting S60 Rewinder at Cutting Edge of Design

Print Print this Article | Send to Colleague

New United Converting, Lucca, Italy, rewinder uses a unique "beltless" transmission and drive system, eliminating a single motor with line shaft design, replacing it with individual digitally controlled Siemens servo motors on each driven component. This gives the customer many advantages, including high-speed operation with fast acceleration and deceleration ramp times, zero belt slipping, precise paper tension control, and product size control by either log diameter, perforation count, or both.

Each product manufactured on an S60 can be memorized by the machine, enabling the operator to quickly recall and program properties such as roll diameter, perforation count, paper tension, roll density, etc. in seconds, thus decreasing product change times and increasing productivity.
