Technavio, London, U.K., has published a new report on the Food Contact Paper Market in the U.S.—Trends and Growth Prospect 2015-2019, which is expected to grow at a CAGR of 6% from 2015-2019. According to the report, different types of paper-derived packaging materials are available on the market, ranging from simple wraps to cartons. These materials are capable of preserving food products for long periods of time.

"Manufacturers of food products prefer food contact paper for cost-efficient packaging, as their light weight and durability enables reduced transportation and handling costs," said Faisal Ghaus, VP of Technavio. "Retailers and product manufacturers also use paper packaging materials to increase their brand visibility, and distinguish their products from other products available on the market."

The new Technavio report also emphasizes the growing demand for biodegradable packaging products. Manufacturers, it notes, have started preferring paper-based packaging materials that are recyclable or biodegradable, and are focusing on introducing new barrier technology to develop a coating that can be readily recycled.

The report covers the current scenario and growth prospects of the food contact paper market in the U.S. from 2015-2019. To calculate the market size, it considers revenue generated by vendors in the market through the sale of food contact paper.
