TAPPI Webinar: Paper Machine Centrifugal Cleaner Systems

The TAPPI Papermakers Committee is hosting a FREE webinar, on Thursday, March 5th, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. EST. Paper Machine Centrifugal Cleaner Systems: A Brief Tutorial will be conducted by Jon Kerr, Executive Director, Paper Science and Engineering Foundation at Miami University. 
 
Sponsored by the Water Removal Committee, this webinar will discuss the basics of centrifugal cleaner systems that are installed in paper machine stock preparation systems. We'll cover the physics of cleaners and how they work, then discuss cleaner system design principles. Finally, we'll illustrate how to balance a cleaner system using simple mass balance techniques and a spreadsheet balance tool. The reference document will be TIP 0508-10, An Introduction to Centrifugal Cleaners. 
 
Presenter Jon Kerr earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (Paper) from Western Michigan University and his MBA from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is a paper industry professional with experience in product management, sales and marketing, and strategic planning experience in stock preparation and recycled fiber processing systems.

The papermakers committee is an active part of the Paper and Board Division and will be participating in the three track program offered at PaperCon 2015, as part of TAPPI’s Centennial Celebration Week.
 
Tracks on The History and Future of Papermaking, Papermaking Additives and Process Control and Fluid Fundamentals will be offered along with programs on coating and graphic arts and PIMA’s management program. 
 
PaperCon is April 19-22 at the Georgia World Congress Center, in Atlanta Ga., USA.
