On Wednesday, Jan. 28, John Holton, technical manager for Jaeger Cylinder Services, Vancouver, Wash., USA, will conduct a webinar on Metalized Yankee Dryer Coatings—Process Considerations. The one-hour webinar begins at noon EST. Registration and more information are available online.

Holton notes that machine thermal sprayed yankee coatings have evolved over the past decade from an asset preservation expenditure to a machine performance investment. Furthermore, with the rapid acceptance of steel yankee dryers, thermal coatings are required.

So why do some coatings run so well and last so long, while others do not? The webinar will answer this question and discuss the steps that mills can take prior to, during, and after the thermal spray application to help maximize their investment. A question and answer session will follow.
