Nippon Paper Revises Printing, Communication Paper Prices

Print Print this Article | Send to Colleague

Nippon Paper Industries Co., Japan, has announced price revisions for printing and communication papers in the domestic market to all of its agencies. Products subject to price revisions include all types of printing, communications, and converting papers. The markup will be a minimum of 10%, beginning with February 1 shipments.

Nippon noted that the increase is necessary because, while rapid depreciation of the Japanese yen continues, the prices of raw materials and fuels are in an upward trend. Although the company has made sustained efforts to reduce costs, it has proved difficult to absorb all of the cost increases through its own efforts, Nippon added. Thus, the company decided that there was no alternative but to pass the cost on to the product prices.
