Yunnan Yunjing Forestry and Pulp Mill, China, has resumed production at its pulp and tissue paper mill in Jinggu county in China’s southwestern province of Yunnan, according to a report by RISI’s Guatam Jatwani, marketing manager at UBM Asia. The mill shut down following a very strong earthquake in early October of this year.

The mill, located just 30 km from the epicenter of the quake, reported no casualties and no apparent damage to its equipment. The mill was shut down to allow for a complete inspection.

The RISI report said that, according to a company source, the two bleached hardwood kraft pulp lines, with a combined capacity of 195,000 metric tpy, and a 30,000 metric tpy tissue machine have restarted normal operations.
