Södra Cuts Prices of Pine, Small-Dimension Softwood

Södra, Sweden, has reduced prices for pine and softwood sawlogs by SEK 20 per cubic meter, solid under bark (m³fub). Prices for small-dimension softwood will be reduced by SEK 20 per m³fub for spruce and SEK 35 per m³fub for pine. The price cut reflects lower market prices for finished goods.

"This is a minor adjustment to bring us in line with the finished goods market, which is currently experiencing declining prices and where redwood is meeting the greatest resistance. Meanwhile, the supply situation is favorable, above all, for small-dimension softwood and softwood sawlogs," said Håkan Larsson, president of the Södra Skog business area.

The price of whitewood will remain unchanged until further notice. The changes became effective December 1.
