Fibria Announces $20 BEK Global Price Hike Effective January 1

According to industry contacts, Fibria, Brazil, has announced a $20 price increase effective January 1 that would bring its BEK (bleached eucalyptus pulp) list prices to $860 in North America, $770 in Europe, and $660 in Asia.

Fibria is the world’s largest producer of eucalyptus pulp. The company has an annual production capacity of 5.3 million metric tons, with mills in Três Lagoas (Mato Grosso do Sul), Aracruz (Espírito Santo), and Jacareí (São Paulo), in addition to Veracel, a mill in Eunápolis (Bahia) that is a joint venture with Stora Enso. In partnership with Cenibra, Fibria operates Portocel in Aracruz, the only Brazilian port specialized in pulp shipments.
