Canada Pulp Exports a Mixed Bag

Canada’s northern bleached softwood kraft (NBSK) pulp exports were down 2.3% y/y in September, but were up 1.3% ytd. China is now Canada’s biggest buyer with near 44% this year, as shown in the table below. The figure below shows Canada’s NBSK exports in U.S. dollar values/metric ton since 2008.
