Crew to Retire as President, COO of Clampitt Paper

Donald Crew, president and COO of Clampitt Paper Co., Dallas, Texas, USA, since 2001, is stepping down at the end of this month (November) to enjoy retirement with his family. "Don has helped this company immeasurably," said company Chairman and CEO Don Clampitt. "His vision and leadership have driven our growth, and he has influenced the lives of countless employees and customers."

Crew has played a significant role in the paper industry throughout his 44 year career. He held national sales and marketing management positions with Georgia-Pacific and Union Camp prior to joining Clampitt in 1994. He entered the firm as VP and GM of Clampitt Paper of San Antonio, then rose quickly to become the company’s EVP, and then president and COO.

"I’ve completely enjoyed my career in the paper industry and have met so many great people," said Crew. He will continue to serve on Clampitt’s board of directors and will provide special services for the firm, though he and his wife, Diane, are planning a robust travel schedule across the globe.

Tom Christian has accepted the role of president, effective this December 1 In his 36 years with Clampitt, Christian has held many leadership positions, most recently serving as EVP.

Clampitt Paper Co. was founded in 1941 and specializes in wholesale paper. The firm employs more than 200 people and owns 16 paper stores and six warehouses throughout Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Missouri. Beyond paper distribution, Clampitt Paper provides specialty programming for business and industry, including recycling partnerships, and the Clampitt Paper School.
