KaMin LLC, Macon, Ga., USA, this week announced it will increase prices for kaolin clay products for the global paper industry by 5% to 7%, depending on the product category, effective December 1, or as contracts allow. KaMin also announced its 2015 energy surcharge policy, which will become effective on Jan. 1, 2015. The threshold will be $5/million Btu and incremental surcharges by product type will remain the same. This policy applies to all slurry, spray-dried hydrous, and calcined kaolin grades sold to the paper industry globally.

KaMin is a manufacturer of hydrous and calcined kaolin. The company mines and produces its kaolin exclusively in the U.S. and sells its products to all regions of the world. It operates three kaolin plants-- Macon, Sandersville, and Wrens, Ga.

KaMin also announced that CADAM SA (in which it purchased a majority ownership position in May 2012), a producer of fine particle kaolin with operations in the Amazon region of Brazil, will increase its prices for kaolin clay products for the global paper industry by 6% to 8%, effective December 1, or as contracts allow. CADAM also has offices and warehouses in Antwerp, Belgium, and Shanghai, China.
