Yuen Foong Yu (YFY), China, has started up another PMP Intelli-Tissue® 1600 Advanced tissue production line at its Yangzhou mill in China. The company had contracted PMPoland, Poland, in April 2013 to deliver four complete PMP Intelli-Tissue 1600 Advanced lines. That order, altogether increased the YFY fleet of new PMP Group machines in China to seven.

The newest machine to come on-stream is a 2.8-meter-wide CF tissue machine (PM 8) with an operating speed of 1,600 m/min. and a daily production capacity of 75 metric tons. It produces virgin fiber-based tissue in the basis weight range at the reel of 13 gsm to 31.3 gsm, for conversion into facial tissue, toilet rolls, and kitchen towels.

The PMP Group’s scope of supply for PM 8 included stock preparation and the entire tissue machine (double-layer Intelli-Jet V® headbox, Intelli-Former® Crescent Former, Intelli-Press® with a 16 ft. steel yankee dryer and high efficiency steam hood, and Intelli-Reel®). The scope of supply also included auxiliary systems such as mechanical drives, lubrication system, steam and condensate, dust removal system, and controls and startup services.

Especially noteworthy, PMP notes, is the double-layer Intelli-Jet V hydraulic headbox, which is a highly advanced, technological unit that guarantees production of premium quality tissue.

PM 8 is the second (out of four) startups that will be conducted by YFY and PMP Group in 2014/2015. Currently, Yuen Foong Yu brands, including Mayflower, Tender, and Delight, play a significant role in the premium tissue sector in China and Taiwan. Through production expansion, product line extensions, and strengthening branded products, YFY’s goal is to be ranked as one of the top five tissue producers in China.
