Mondi to Shut down PM 1 at Lohja Mill Next June

Mondi, South Africa, reports that it will shut down  Paper Machine No. 1 at its Lohja mill in Finland, effective approximately June 30, 2015. The consultation process with all of the mill''s employees will start immediately.
 
The company's Lohja mill currently employs some 170 people and a maximum of 75 employees are estimated to be affected by the the restructuring. The mill produces coated and uncoated specialty kraft papers for the release liner and release base markets, the medical, food packaging, and food service markets.
