Evonik Promotes Edlinger to Business Line Director

Christian Edlinger has been promoted to business line director, Interface & Performance, in the Consumer Specialties Unit of Evonik Corp., Hopewell, Va., USA. He is responsible for developing and implementing business strategy for the Americas region, and is a member of the global management team for the Evonik Interface & Performance Business Line. 
The global Evonik Interface & Performance Business Line offers specific expertise in release coatings for: labels and hygiene applications; additives and processing aids for the manufacture of plastics and rubber, fluff pulp, tissue, and textiles; wetting agents for safeguarding the efficacy of plant protection agents; additives for building protection and metalworking fluids; and binders for adhesives and sealants. 

Edlinger has held several posts at Evonik. Since 2010 he has served as head of controlling for the Evonik Global Personal Care Business Line based in Essen, Germany, where he focused on strategic growth in Asia and South America and acquisition and divestment projects. His career at Evonik began in 2003 as an operational controller for the company’s Performance Materials division.  
 
Edlinger earned a degree in business administration from Saarland University in Saarbruecken, Germany.   

Germany-based Evonik is a global producer of specialty chemicals. The company has operations in more than 100 countries around the world. In fiscal 2013, more than 33,500 employees generated sales of around EUR 12.7 billion, and an operating profit (adjusted EBITDA) of about EUR 2.0 billion.
