Russian Millionaire to Build Containerboard Mill in Country’s Samara Region

According to a report this week by PulPaper News.com (Sweden), Russian millionaire and business man Andrei Bogdanov plans to invest up to RUB 300 million (approximately $10 million) to build one of Russia’s largest paper mills in the city of Togliatti of the Samara region. The new mill reportedly will utilize recycled wastepaper, paperboards, and corrugated board.

The first phase of the project is expected to be launched in late 2015. The plant will reach its full design capacity of 35,000 metric tpy in 2017, according to the director of the factory, Artem Antashev. The company, according to the PulPaper News report, plans to gain up to 1.5% of the Russian market for corrugating medium and liners by 2017, increasing this to 2.5% by 2021.
 
Antashev said the new plant will process 100 metric tpd of wastepaper.
