Multi Packaging Acquires Armstrong Packaging

Multi Packaging Solutions (MPS), New York, N.Y., USA, a manufacturer of value-added print and packaging for the branded consumer, cosmetics, healthcare, premium drinks, and entertainment markets, has acquired Armstrong Packaging, Arbroath, Scotland, a producer of specialty rigid boxes. The acquisition expands Multi Packaging’s global platform for luxury packaging, gift sets, travel retail, and commemorative editions.

MPS produces an extensive array of print-based specialty packaging, including premium folding cartons, labels, inserts/leaflets, and specialty packaging across a variety of substrates and finishes. The company has more thanr 50 manufacturing locations in the U.S., Asia, and Europe, and employs some 7,200 people. MPS is a portfolio company of Carlyle Group and of Madison Dearborn Partners.

Armstrong Packaging employs around 80 people and supplies both multinational and smaller regional clients. The company produces a broad range of rigid box styles made largely from paperboard embellished with other materials.
