The National Paper Trade Association (NPTA), Chicago, Ill., USA, has released its 2014 NPTA Employee Compensation Report. According to NPTA, the report will help paper distributors maximize the value and potential of their employees by providing insights to distribution firms’ overall employee compensation and benefit plans.

The study, co-sponsored by NPTA and 26 other distribution organizations, allows NPTA members to examine their pay scales and benefits programs, and benchmark them against other distribution channels.

"The 2014 Employee Compensation Report will provide all participants with several levels of value," said NPTA CEO, Kevin Gammonley. "The results will help respondents determine where their compensation plan stands in our industry as well as compared with other distribution channels. Second, this information will provide concrete evidence for participants to prove that their compensation is ‘reasonable’ within the Internal Revenue Code. On a higher level, the overall data will help us more effectively respond to legislative proposals regarding government-mandated health and leave benefits."

The report is the most complete source of information available about compensation and benefits practices for distribution channels. Members will be able to see how their company’s data compares with their competitors within the paper industry and against the aggregated results of nearly 1,000 distributors across multiple distribution channels, NPTA notes.

"This is a great tool for our industry’s distributors, especially as they re-evaluate their current compensation models and work towards building a more competitive business," said Gammonley. "NPTA is pleased to provide this valuable resource, and we encourage all members to order a copy of the results."

A copy of the survey results is available online.

The National Paper Trade Association, founded in 1903, serves the $50-plus billion paper distribution channel. The mission of NPTA is to actively support the success of member firms through the delivery of networking, education, advocacy, and industry trends focused on the health of the paper distribution channel.
