U.S. Containerboard Production Declines

April containerboard production by U.S. mills decreased 5.6% from March and was 0.8% lower than the same month last year, AF&PA (Washington, D.C., USA) reported in its April 2014 U.S. Containerboard Statistics Report. The month-over-month average daily production decreased 2.4%.

Shipments for April were 2,817,500 tons, representing 160.2 billion sq. ft. The containerboard operating rate for April decreased 1.2 points from March, from 95.9% to 94.7%.
