Container The Americas Manufacturing Services Announce Leadership Changes

Roger Mills, division manager, engineering and capital purchasing, Container The Americas, will be retiring in May after more than 41 years of dedicated service with International Paper, Memphis, Tenn., USA. Throughout his four decades with the company, Roger has held various leadership positions of increasing responsibility, including engineering and plant management roles.
"Roger has been a very important member of our CTA manufacturing team for many years. His focus on the best and most cost effective engineering, reliability, and purchasing practices has helped our CTA business reach world-class performance in our industry," said Mike Soelke, director, manufacturing services, Container The Americas. "His knowledge and experience of our manufacturing process, facility equipment, and much more will be missed. We wish Roger the very best in his retirement."
In anticipation of Roger’s retirement, the following CTA leadership changes were announced, effective immediately:
Joe Dieffenbacher has been named division manager, engineering and capital purchasing, Container The Americas. In his new leadership role, Dieffenbacher will report to Soelke and oversee all of engineering and capital purchasing for the CTA business. During his 39-year career with the company, Dieffenbacher has held various roles in engineering with increasing amounts of responsibility. Most recently, he was manager, engineering services, CTA. Dieffenbacher will continue to reside in the Memphis area.
Bert Hurler has been named manager, engineering services, CTA. Hurler will continue to report to Dieffenbacher and will have lead responsibility for all of the engineering services across the CTA business. Hurler has been with International Paper since 1993 and has had several positions in project management. Most recently, he was project engineering lead, CTA. He also will continue to reside in the Memphis area.

"They each have gained a wealth of engineering experience in their years with the business. I am confident they will provide the leadership needed to ensure the CTA business continues to be best-in-class in both engineering and operational efficiencies."
