Print Print this Article | Send to Colleague

Klabin S.A. has ordered two Valmet, Finland, pulp drying lines for its new mill in Ortigueira, Paraná, Brazil. The pulp dryer is part of Klabin's Puma project, the largest investment in the company's history, which will double the company's production in three years. The value of Valmet's anticipated delivery was not disclosed. However, a project of this size and scope is typically valued at EUR 150-200 million, Valmet noted.

The hardwood pulp drying line will have a capacity of 3,500 metric tpd, and consists of an approach system with screening, wet end, dryer, cutter, and three baling lines. The softwood fluff pulp drying line will have a capacity of 1,300 metric tpd, and includes an approach system, screening, wet end, dryer, calender, reeler, winders and roll handling system. A cutter and baling line is also included, and the softwood line will have the ability to produce market pulp.

The order includes the machinery, civil works, erection, commissioning, training, and startup.
