Sonoco ThermoSafe Launches Addition to Wine Shipper Product Line

Sonoco ThermoSafe, Arlington Heights, Ill., USA, a unit of Sonoco, Hartsville, S.C., and a producer of temperature assurance packaging, has introduced a line extension to its wine shipper family. The product line ensures temperature control and product protection during the shipment of wine, spirits, and craft alcoholic beverages for up to five days.

"There is a substantial need in the market for a variety of shipping solutions that protect wine and craft beverages from temperature extremes that could compromise product quality," said Marianne Hoonakker-Kelly, global market manager for Sonoco ThermoSafe. "The new models utilize sustainable materials and provide temperature and product protection for sets of two or six 750-mil. wine bottles. Our lineup now includes the industry's first complete temperature-controlled wine shipping systems designed specifically to ensure wine is held below 77oF. Additionally, these complete shipper systems include easy-to-follow instructions and are available without refrigerants for shipping during colder months."

Ben VanderPlas, global product manager for Sonoco ThermoSafe, added that "the new alternative material shippers have been thermally tested and subjected to the ISTA 1G distribution test procedure, which simulates extreme handling practice in small parcel shipping environments. Our new shippers not only protect spirits from temperature extremes, but also bottle breakage."
