APPF Founder Crane Dies

Ted Crane, founder of the Auburn Pulp and Paper Foundation (APPF), University of Auburn, Auburn, Ala., USA, passed away on Sunday evening, February 23. Crane suffered for more than 10 years with a brain disease. His wife Barbara was able to keep him at home during this period.

Crane will be remembered in a service held tomorrow, February 28, in Birmingham at Canterbury United Methodist Church. Visitation will be 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. CST in the Church parlor. A memorial service immediately follows at 11:30 a.m. in the Church sanctuary. The Church is located at 350 Overbrook Rd., Birmingham, Ala. 35213 (in Mountainbrook).

As a Founder of the APPF, Crane was instrumental in building a new, vibrant scholarship organization at Auburn, assisting engineering students. His vision combined his interest in helping others with his passions for Auburn University and the pulp and paper industry.
