PulPaper 2014, the 8th international exhibition for suppliers to the pulp, paper, board, and converting industries, will be held in the Helsinki Exhibition & Convention Centre in Helsinki, Finland, on June 3-5, 2014. The event’s technical conference, again arranged by PI, the Finish Paper Engineers’ Association, and AEL, Finland-based provider of technical training, will feature a number of internationally renowned speakers who will cover the most current topics under the main theme—"Biofuture for Mankind." Register for the conference before January 31 and get the early bird price.

Biofuture for Mankind covers the topic of bioeconomy and resource management for a sustainable world. The program has been assembled by industry leaders and experts led by Chairman Jorma Eloranta, previous CEO of Metso Oyj. Topics discussed during the five conference sessions include the definition of bioeconomy, profitability of the entire value chain, resource management for a sustainable world, and the big bottlenecks of biomass conversion and separation technology. Attention also will be paid to the future role of paper in the information society, including packaging and new biobased materials. One of the most important questions asked during the conference will be: "What can we offer the 2 billion living on less than 2 dollars a day?" More information about the conference program is available online.

An important part of the conference program, running alongside the main conference, is the 29th International Mechanical Pulping Conference (IMPC), a scientific event circulating between the different continents. IMPC presentations will cover the entire mechanical pulping arena from fundamentals and energy efficiency to new applications and innovations, as well as mill experiences. The IMPC Program Committee is chaired by Sari Liukkonen, VTT Technical Research.

During PulPaper 2014, PI will celebrate its 100th year anniversary, on June 4th. More information on PulpPaper 2014 and the 2014 IMPC is available online.
