EnsoCarrie Enos has accepted the position of president of the University of Maine Pulp and Paper Foundation, Orono, Maine, USA. In making the announcement, John Donahue, VP of Manufacturing, Sappi North America, and chairman of the Executive Committee of the Foundation, noted that Enos has worked in the paper industry since 1997, holding ever-increasing levels of responsibility. Most recently, she was Finished Products business unit manager at the Verso Paper Mill in Bucksport, Maine. She has also been employed at International Paper in Jay, Maine (now Verso Paper), Sappi Fine Paper in Skowhegan, Maine, and Eastern Fine Paper (now Lincoln Paper and Tissue) in Lincoln, Maine.

Enos graduated from Mattanawcook Academy in Lincoln, Maine, as valedictorian, and from the University of Maine in 1999 with a B.S. degree in chemical engineering cum laude, and highest honors distinction. She also attended Consider Engineering and was a recipient of the Pulp and Paper Foundation Scholarship.

Enos will be replacing Jack Healy, executive director and president, who has held the position since 2007, and will be retiring in the spring of 2014.

"After an extensive national search, we are pleased to have someone of Carrie’s background and caliber to lead our organization," Donahue said. "She will do an outstanding job of executing our strategic plan, working with our partners and donors, and assisting and guiding scholarship students."
