Jonathan C. Kerr, executive director, Paper Science and Engineering (PS&E) Foundation, Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, USA, reports that the foundation has received a hoped-for grant from International Paper Co., Memphis, Tenn., to build a study space specifically for the Student TAPPI chapter. Overlooking the paper machine, this mezzanine space will be outfitted with a projector, whiteboard, and furniture that will promote group study and mentoring relationships between upper-class engineering students and their sophomore/junior colleagues.

To commemorate such a generous donation, the PS&E Foundation will install a laminate etched plaque that uses both the IP and the TAPPI logo, Kerr noted. Below is the proposed sketch by the designer.
