Rengo Co., (Kita-ku, Osaka; Japan) President and CEO Kiyoshi Otsubo announced this week that the company’s wholly owned subsidiary Settsu Carton Corp. (Itami City, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan) has established Settsu Carton Vietnam Corp., an 80% financed corrugated box manufacturing company, in Dong Nai Province, Vietnam. Long Duc Industrial Park is located approximately 40 km southeast of Ho Chi Minh City.

Vietnam is a country where further expansion by Japanese companies is expected in the future. Corrugated box production by Settsu Carton Vietnam will help meet the need for high quality packaging materials by companies locating and expanding in the area. Construction of the new plant will begin in the near future, with operations scheduled to begin around October 2014.
