SCA, Stockholm, Sweden, announced that its CFO and EVP Lennart Persson will retire on July 1, 2014, after contributing to SCA’s growth in a number of senior positions since 1987. Fredrik Rystedt (photo) will succeed Persson, effective March 1, 2014, although he will formally assume his position on July 1. Rystedt will become a member of SCA’s Corporate Senior Management Team.

Rystedt has extensive experience of the CFO position gained at a number of listed companies. Between 1989 and 1998, he held a series of senior positions in the Electrolux Group, including CFO between 2001 and 2008. In the late 1990s, he served as CFO of the aluminum profile company Sapa. From 2008 until early 2013, he was the CFO, EVP, and country manager for Sweden for the Nordic banking group Nordea.

In his new role at SCA, Rystedt will report to President and CEO Jan Johansson.

"With his long and relevant experience, Fredrik Rystedt is an excellent successor to Lennart Persson. Lennart is and has been a valuable key asset of the company. Through his extensive knowledge, professionalism, and commitment, Lennart has added significant value to SCA, particularly in our journey of change toward becoming a leading global hygiene and forest products company," Johansson said.
