Exopack Advanced Coatings Purchases InteliCoat Technologies

Exopack Advanced Coatings, U.K., a global producer of precision coated papers, films, and specialty substrates for imaging, electronic, medical, optical, and security technologies, has purchased InteliCoat Technologies, South Hadley, Mass., USA, a global producer of high performance digital imaging substrates. This acquisition will enable further product development at Exopack, the company noted, and increase its "unique competitiveness of as a global manufacturer."

"With 50 years of designing and engineering coatings and coating processes, Exopack Advanced Coatings is uniquely qualified to grow the ink jet media business further," said David Neal, president at Exopack Advanced Coatings. "InteliCoat's intellectual property, marketing and branding competencies, combined with Exopack Advanced Coatings' precision coating expertise and multitude of coating assets, will definitely give us the opportunity to expand our role in the digital imaging market."

Exopack intends to keep all Magic®, Magiclée®, Museo®, and JetSet® offerings, consisting of the same base papers and coating processes. The InteliCoat brands will continue to be sold through the current distribution channel of Magic brand dealers. Additionally, InteliCoat's sales, marketing, and customer service team will remain in western Massachusetts, USA.
