Jacques Joins MicroVision Laboratories

MicroVision Laboratories Inc., Chelmsford, Mass., USA, this week announced that Jeff Jacques has joined the company as analytical microscopist, Printing Applications Division. With some 20 years of experience in analysis and consultation to the printing and related industries, Jacques has served on the Technical Program Committee for TAPPI and on the ASTM Printing Ink Standards Committee, as well as serving as a president of the Boston Litho Club.

At his previous position with Nancy Plowman Associates Inc. as technical operations manager, Jacques was a principle analyst and developed and helped design testing equipment and procedures, some of which now are used throughout the printing, paper, and board industries. During the past 12 years, he has spoken at several conferences and seminars, including the TAPPI Metered Size Press Forum and Coating Conference, Lake States and Empire TAPPI conferences, and the TAPPI Print Quality Symposium. He also has given testimony at arbitration hearings and mediation panels.

With Jacques' experience and knowledge of the printing system, MicroVision Labs is able to offer an expanded suite of offerings to people within the printing and printing consumables industries. MicroVision Labs has the capability to do extensive analysis of printing complaints, from coating thickness cross sectioning for packaging industries, to elemental mapping and the compositional identification of materials.

Currently, MicroVision Labs offers:
