PCA Corrugated Plants Recognized for Safety Achievements

The Fibre Box Association, Elk Grove Village, Ill., USA, and the Association of Independent Corrugated Converters (AICC), Alexandria, Va., recently recognized a total of 394 corrugated plants for safety achievements in 2011. Two Packaging Corp. of America (PCA), Lake Forest, Ill., facilities were recognized at the highest level of safety recognition. Each winner had the greatest number of hours worked with the fewest recordable cases or lost workdays within their category.

In addition, 22 PCA facilities were among the 134 plants recognized for achieving zero incidents in 2011 and received the FBA/AICC Perfect Plant Award.

The Safety Excellence Award was presented to all sheet plants and combining plants who achieved no lost workdays due to job-related injury or illness for the 2011 calendar year. Of the 246 plants, 27 PCA plants were awarded for Safety Excellence.
