U.S. Containerboard Output Flat in June

U.S. containerboard production was flat in June 2011 compared with May 2011, according to the AF&PA (Washington, D.C., USA) U. S. Containerboard Statistics Report released this week. However, the month-over-month average daily production was up 3.3%. The containerboard operating rate for June was up slightly, 0.1 point over June 2010 to 96.9%, but it gained 3.1 points over May's operating rate.
Additional key findings from the report include:
- Linerboard production has a slight gain over last year
- Corrugating medium also showed a slight increase over June 2010.
