Ilim Group Production up 8% in Northwestern Russia

Ilim Group, St. Petersburg, Russia, reported this week that company locations in the Northwest of Russia (the Ilim Branch in Koryazhma and Ilim Gofra corrugated board plant in Leningrad Oblast) produced 530,000 metric tons of pulp and paper products during the first six months of this year. This is 8% above the performance during a similar period in 2010.

The January – June 2011 production includes 176,000 metric tons of market pulp, which is a 11% increase compared with January – June 2010. Market containerboard production reached 247,000 tons during the first half of this year, a 5% gain over last year.

Paper production increased to 107,000 metric tons, which is 9% more than in the first six months of 2010. This includes 37,000 metric tons of sack paper, 50,000 metric tons of offset paper, and 20,000 metric tons of paper for wallpaper manufacturing purposes. Pulp production grew by 8% to 554,000 metric tons. Wood supplies to the Koryazhma Branch totaled 268,000 cubic meters, which is 5% more than in January – June of last year.
