U.S. export OCC (old corrugated containers) to China is rising, according to Wilde, up $8/ton to $200 - $215/ton FOB. With Chinese demand strong in the post-Chinese New Year, and reports of some shortage in supply in Europe, it is likely that OCC price to China could rise in April, Wilde notes, adding that in the domestic markets, OCC demand is likely to remain healthy. Opinion is mixed about OCC pricing over the next few months.
