U.S. P&W Paper Shipments Decline in February

Preliminary U.S. February printing and writing paper shipments were -5.2% y/y, reports Mark Wilde, senior analyst with Deutsche Bank. Uncoated freesheet shipments were weaker-than-expected, at -7.0%, he adds. In the coated shipments area, LWC was -5.2% y/y and coated freesheet was -1.4%. Deutsche Bank suspects some "weather impact" in these figures, Wilde adds.
