Caraustar Implements Freight Surcharge on Paperboard Converted Products

Caraustar Industries Inc., Atlanta, Ga., USA, this week announced that it will implement freight surcharges on shipments of paperboard converted products, effective with shipments on and after April 1. Robert Pender, VP, Industrial Products Group, noted that "substantial, recent increases in diesel fuel prices have dramatically increased the cost of doing business, necessitating immediate cost recovery."
