White Birch Paper Co. Auction Held Tuesday

White Birch Paper Co. of Greenwich, Conn., USA, this week received bids for the sale of its operations and held an auction. Operations at the second-largest newsprint manufacturer in North America are expected to continue during the sale process. All bids are for the operations as a going concern. The company, which has operations in Canada and the U.S., will seek final court approval of the winning bid in Canada on September 24 and in the U.S. on September 30. The company anticipates completion of the sale in late November, subject to regulatory approvals and other conditions.
